Develop Web App by Delphi
1. Software development based on Delphi
Before getting started to create a web app, you should prepare a project in Delphi. The project could be in a simple structure like "Hello World!". It could be in a complex structure with database and multi-tier structure. Also you should consider what it looks like in the web browser. Give the project files names and save them to a new folder on the computer.
2. Develop web app by Delphi
Compile the project to make sure that it can run without problems. Copy wxoExec.pas and wxoUnit.pas from .../webxone/Public/ to the new folder you have just created in step1. Add a new line "wxoExec, wxoUnit," under USERS of Unit1.pas. Add a new line "wxoPrepare (handle,Application.Handle);" before the End of Unit1.pas and save it. Complie again for inspection. Open wxoConfig.exe in .../webxone/WWW/ and import the Delphi project. Click the green generate button and then the web app will be created.
3. Test the web app
Now you can test the web app you have just created. You can fast setup a virtual testing server locally with SmartServ.exe in .../webxone/WWW/. Simply put the web app into the same folder of SmartServ.exe then you can visit the web app locally. If this is the first time you visit the web app created by WebXone, you will be asked to install a plug-in to display the web app correctly.
* 4. Upload the web app to server
If the web app runs correctly on your local testing server, you can upload it to your web server. Simply upload the create web app together with _default, index.htm and setup.exe in .../webxone/WWW/ to a same place of your web server, and then your visitors would be able to use the web app directly in their browsers. All web browsers for Windows are supported!
